Would You Go with Me?

poetry

If I asked you to run with me,
hand in hand into the night
along the beachfront, getting
our feet wet in the cool lake?

If I asked you to go with me
would you trust me enough
to walk with me to the
corners of the Earth?

Traveling gets rough but
the dream is to RV-travel
throughout the US, seeing
all of our dream destinations?

I don’t know that I’ll make it through
without you with me in this journey.
At the very least, I don’t want to
move on without you.

October 31st is my 3rd wedding anniversary. I wrote this poem based on some of the dreams that I had before getting married. Luckily for me, my husband and I take regular road trips.
