Years ago, I sought peace:
less clutter to mull through
less activities on a packed schedule
less time spent cleaning-
the bedroom alone took hours per week.

I sought more and refused to settle short
Finding contentment in making less decisions
Owning less stuff- donated to better homes

Fell in love with mornings spent writing over rushing
settling my mind- doing more of true loves

Learning that slow and steady progress
is still a win- no matter how slow- steadiness won.
That done is better than perfect
Finding time for peace and stillness.

Daring to ask myself the questions
whose answers changed the trajectory of life.

In ths series about simplicity, my entire goal has been to introduce different parts of simplicity. For a long time, I thought the journey was about how many possessions you had and why downsizing and refusing to add more were the main part of simplicity.

By that assumption, I may have found some happiness. Having less in the space I called home brought a sense of relief and calm when I looked around.

However, the game changed when I realized simplicity was about so much more! Simplicity could be brought into many of my and routines, my goal processes and how I viewed things like spending money and phone usage.

In each of the posts I created here, I have sought to share the ways I’ve learned to simplify various areas of life. I thank you for reading and hope that you have been inspired by some of the ideas presented.
