Yawn, stretch, out of bed.
Don’t waste life hitting snooze.
This first hour is fundamental-
it sets the tone all day, choose fuel
and activities that serve you well.
Remember to feed heart, body and soul.
One activity for each is the starting point.
This ritual, it doesn’t have to last long-
but it should pack a punch- energize
and help to accomplish your most
important task. What fills you?

In my mind, you can not write about simplicity without writing about a morning routine. The morning sets the stage for every part of the day. What you do during that first hour really does matter. I wrote this poem as a reminder, but also because I’ve written a few other articles on morning routines. I didn’t really want to keep repeating the same information. I’m including them here if you’re interested.
