So many times we want massive change immediately. When writing down goals, we are hungry to throw together a modge podge of big dreams with short deadlines.

We don’t progress because we are constantly stretching ourselves in many different directions at once. We overwhelm ourselves in the process and make things more difficult to change.

However, what would happen if we took on goals one or two at a time? Break down those goals into small milestones. Focus on only one thing at a time and see it through to completion. It would conserve a lot of energy and give us both the time and space needed to not only finish, but also be able to transition onto the next change.

Building one small change on top of another would allow for longer and sustained growth in any aspect of our lives. There is a greater likelihood that we would stick with the habit for longer. Especially compared to not giving the change or habit our full attention and continuing to become burnt out.

Choose one area of focus and work until it’s completed. Then add another goal.
