One Year Down
A poem reflecting a milestone

I can’t lie and say this has been
as easy as I thought when I said
“I do”. There have been challenges:
families not meshing.
Mental health taking a nosedive:
more me than you love.
Health issues we didn’t foresee.
Yet, as I look at you in the light
of my favorite town, Lake Erie,
I think that I would do this all
over again. I love you still.
