I hope you carry that twinkle when
he makes you dinner, upgrade it,
dress up for sit down dinner at Red Lobster.
I hope you never loose sight of precious moments
with mom- because life is fleeting, unpredictable.
Your agenda for this month- to carve time with her-
taken so suddenly when she self-quarantined. Never forget that.

I hope you take the time to decide
what you’re leaving behind:
petty quarrels, anti-social tactics
the constant need to spoil yourself.
The sense of entitlement you used to feel.

Stay focused on the goal you’ve steered
Don’t let temptation stomp it out.
You’ve spent hours identifying-
what you really want and need.
Engrave it on your the flip side
of your mind and make daily progress.

I hope you never lose sight of how blessed
you were in this time- the extra love, time,
small reminders to be grateful in the storm.
