I’m looking ahead a bit, but July is my second favorite month of the year. My birthday kicks off the month, and I’ll be spending two days in Erie, PA. From there, there is a mixture of crafting and writing challenges I’m excited to participate in.

Challenges:

Junk Journal July:

This will be my second year participating. Junk Journal July is a challenge with prompts, to create a page of art every day. In true junk journaling, recyclable pieces like: paint chips, scraps of fabric and paper, travel brochures, and other “junk” materials. I’m excited as I learned quite a few techniques last year.

One Notebook July:

The original challenge is to use one notebook and one pen during the month for both planning and memory keeping.

I’m doing things a little differently. With doing both Junk Journal July and ICAD, I’ll be doing a creative notebook holding both types of art with spaces for journaling.

As my junk journals always tend to be altered books, I’ve left both the opening and closing pages for writing. I want to put a few pages in the beginning and ending for writing.
