Game Night- April 2nd 2020
Poem 2 of 30 During NaPoWriMo 2020
my mother is self isolating
during a virus predicted to
wipe out a lot of the population
and lead to a market crash a la 1930s.
I’m learning different lessons:
learning a career type job,
adapting to living with Randy-
the man who makes me wonder
if I could be happy forever.
He calls it a test: can we live together?
For now, our distraction contains
Splash Mountain Sorry-
recalling childhood days in
the Magic Kingdom of Disney…
(trying not to think of the germs
on every inch of that theme park);
and Parcheesi- like the days of
playing at the dinner table where
actual dinners happened at age 6-
grandma and I played with little
velvet bears in red, tan
and dark brown- the memories makers.
