Dear Writing…
A love poem to the craft
I’ve never loved anything this much:
putting pen to paper, fingers to keyboard.
It’s 100% raw passion that compels me forward.
On to today’s blank page- the dragon’s layer-
new mysteries come with.
Life giving and engulfing- you are my purpose.
In you, I find myself- reflect on life’s journey
and dissect the intent of both others and situations.
You give me fresh insight into motivations, the
why of situations and the beats of my own heart.
You inspire me to daily improve, to draw upon the muse:
the one in the sleeveless black maxi dress with the blue sword.
The one who whispers lines to me yet unheard, unforgettable.
She leads me to daydreams which foretell the stories inside of me.
Every work an offering to the gods of literature, poetry and writing.
