lost in your journals-

happiness, memories, gratitude-

wild hearted girl with skewed flowers

in a loose crown around her light brown hair.

Dreamcatcher in one hand- to let go

of the bad memories through absorption.

Camera in the other- your only focus:

capture photos of those things and people you love.

You frantically move from one task to another-

face flushed with effort- you don’t want to let go

of even just one thing that helps you with good memories.

Girl with the biggest heart, the one who wants a full life

filled with things that you love- willing to spend hours to

manifest and cultivate-

please beautiful, don’t forget that to truly capture

the memories you so desperately seek-

is to put down the camera, put down the dreamcatcher.

Open yourself up to what’s going on around you:

the twinkle in his eyes when he tells you he loves you.

The beauty of an unfiltered sunset over the Lake you love.

The taste of vanilla and orange sherbert swirl at Sara’s.

Keep your memories, they belong to you.

But don’t forget to live.
