It’s really tempting me to jump back into the current of sprints

I received an e-mail recently from NaNoWriMo headquarters. It launched some pretty big news: camp is releasing a memoir track for writers this July. The track has letters of encouragement and audio files that talk about planning and executing memoir.

NaNoWriMo began as a project to write a novel within 30 days. This track opens the doors to more people by providing resources for a non-fiction track.

It’s a great time to challenge writers to work with personal experiences surrounding a specific topic. To maybe challenge themselves to think outside the usual NaNoWriMo box.

It’s encouraging me to dust off my writing shoes and do a few extra sprint hours this month. A sprint is writing for a determined amount of time- don’t think, don’t edit, just keep writing.

I’m not fully committed but I’m grateful to see the NaNo staff reaching out and diversifying this month.
