A few years ago, I came across the idea of writing a list of 101 things to do in 1001 days. These were meant to be anything from large personal challenges to one-time events and everything in between.

Making the list reminded me of the bucket list I wrote when I broke up with my last serious boyfriend before meeting my husband. He was everything to me and except for work, we rarely spent time apart. I needed something to fill the void.

However, with a 101 in 1001 list, what I’ve realized is that often times we make time for the goals and objectives we really care about up front. By the first year’s evaluation, there’s a lot of things that just don’t matter anymore or that we want to change.

So, what if there was a 101 list for a much shorter amount of time? One that we took on with no pressure. Whether we accomplished 10 small things or all 100, it was a win.

5 tips for creating a 101 things list

These are just small things that worked for me while brainstorming.

1. Don’t pressure yourself to fill it out right away

A lot can change in 365 days. It’s natural that things will come up that we weren’t expecting that will be added.
